GRAFFITI is being used across the city to promote a road safety campaign.

The giant pieces, hand-painted by Brighton-based graffiti artist Paul Barlow, also known at Aroe, were commissioned by the Sussex Safer Roads Partnership (SSRP) to help “engage” the public.

Yesterday saw the launch of PimpArtworks.com, a brand new art community site dedicated to Urban and Street art.  Their fresh new concept does away with all the red tape involved with exhibiting urban artworks and offers a global platform to both buy & sell from, regardless of if you’re a known name or not.

The PimpArtworks site is completely free to join and has no membership fees.  They’ll only take a cut for the service as and when something sells.  It gets better too – the site looks easy and straight forward to use and the artists & photographers are free to set their own commission over the PimpArtworks set base sale price and they’ll receive 100% of it.

Ten years from the day that he first decided to spray a red and yellow temple instead of his name on walls from here to Bangkok, leading UK graffiti artist Sickboy has immortalised his iconic temple as a collectable 3D resin hand-painted model.

The highly-anticipated hand-cast models are available as a four-strong series representing Love, Peace, Happiness and Death, with each edition a super-exclusive run of 25 featuring an emblem of one of Sickboy’s signature symbols: a heart, a peace sign, an acid face or a skull.

Sickboy says: “Nobody said it was going to be easy, and this definitely wasn’t. I’ve been laughed at by model makers, sneered at by spotty adolescents from Games Workshop, breathed in enough turpentine to keep a glue sniffer happy for years, and ruined my best shirt at the printers. But I couldn’t let this one slip through the net.”

The 3D Temples are produced in the red and yellow Sickboy colour palette (hand-painted red with a yellow resin), are hand-signed and numbered, and presented in a special screen-printed box.
